El Banco de España advirtió ayer de que ligar las pensiones al IPC, tal y como han prometido en numerosas ocasiones tanto Pedro Sánchez como Pablo Iglesias y lo volverán a hacer en la campaña electoral previa a las elecciones del 10 de noviembre, dispararía el gasto de tal manera que se pondría en cuestión la viabilidad financiera de la Seguridad Social.
Según estima el organismo, «en ausencia de medidas adicionales, se estima que vincular nuevamente las pensiones al IPC aumentaría el gasto en, aproximadamente, 2 puntos porcentuales del PIB en el año 2030 y en más de 3 puntos porcentuales del PIB en 2050», En otras palabras: que la indexación dispararía el gasto en hasta 24.000 millones adicionales solo en los próximos once años, y que la cifra llegaría hasta los 36.000 millones en 2050.
Por ello, el director de Economía y Estadística del organismo, Óscar Arce, señaló durante su intervención en la Jornada Institucional de Previsión organizada por BBVA que es totalmente necesario que se acometan importantes reformas y que se hagan, además, de manera consensuada entre todas las formaciones. Y todo ello, recoge su presentación, conjugando la sostenibilidad financiera pero también la social, esto es, que no se acometan reformas que solo busquen contentar a los pensionistas sin tener en cuenta sus implicaciones económicas pero que tampoco se imponga una contención de las finanzas a costa de los derechos de los jubilados.
